July is jam packed with events.  One of our featured events is a visit from the Beardsley Zoo.  Animal events are always popular and space is limited, so be sure to sign up soon.  For the younger summer readers, we have a drop in Movement Class on Friday mornings.

Other July events include Extreme Karate, Book Time with Ronald McDonald, The Three Not So Little Pigs, Pinocchio, Kahana Hula and more.

August presents many opportunities for children to have fun at the library as well.  Join us for Bingo, Triumphant Tales, Family Storytime and more.

The summer closes with our Grand Finale featuring the Harlem Wizards, 2 giant bounces for children to play in, face painting and treats from Rita’s.  All children who register to attend will receive a special prize pack.   Come on down to the Children’s Department and register to join in the fun.

There’s Something New & It Might Save You Money April 15, 2009

These days everyone is interested in saving money.  For my own use, I put together a list of coupon and bargain sites that I frequent often to insure that I get the best price possible for any purchases I make.   This list includes online discounts, in store discounts, coupons, free shipping, daily specials and more.

I shared this list with my daughter and she published it in her college newspaper.  Now students across campus are using the list to find bargains.  Then, I thought, why not offer the list to our patrons at the library?  So, if you are interested in finding some of the hottest deals offered, or sharing your own favorite bargain sites, click on Coupon Connection in the green box to the right labeled Pages.  This link will take you to the Coupon Connection page.  Scroll down and click on the name of each individual web site to visit it.

Thanks to the Shamrock Dancers! March 17, 2009

I’d like to send out a big thank you to Shannon, all the dancers of the Shamrock School of Irish Dance, and especially to all the parents who drove their talented dancers to our library.  Everyone (more than 200 people) had a fabulous time!  The children in the audience were inspired by the dances and the performers.  It was the perfect way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

For those of you who wanted to pick up information on the Shamrock School of Irish Dance and were unable to do so, please visit their website at www.shamrockdancestudio.com.
