The library’s summer reading program opens with a laugh when the library welcomes Alex the Jester on Wednesday, June 25th at 6:30PM.  Alex will perform his hilarious program Laugh Your Head Off.  It’s a guaranteed good time for parents and children. Registration is required.

July is jam packed with events.  One of our featured events is Book Voyagers.  This is a program for children ages 6-10 and their parents.  For the younger summer readers, we have a drop in Movement Class on Friday mornings.

Other Events include American Girl Stories, Aesop’s Fables, Alice in Wonderland, Stunt Planes & Gliders, Family Night at the Improv, Are you Smarter Than a Librarian, The Railroad Magic Show, Spoonman and more.

August presents many opportunities for children to have fun at the library as well.  Join us for Bingo, Zoo Station (with visits from some of the real animals that call Connecticut their home), Family Storytime and more.

The summer closes with our Grand Finale featuring Karl the Circus Guy, 2 giant bounces for children to play in, face painting and treats from Rita’s.  All children who register to attend will receive a special Travel Quest fanny pack filled with goodies.   Come on down to the Children’s Department and join in the fun.
